Louise’s garden inspires her and her ability to “think” without words – giving the direction to her stirring and complexly interwoven compositions. A simple blue vase stimulates an observance – a faint memory - becoming a dynamic energy, intensified by the clarity and intensity of Arizona light which floods her studio. Although Louise begins some of her paintings using a subject placed on a table in front of her, this is just a starting point in her creative process. I can imagine hearing Louise say, “forget about formulas- trust your own ability to see – trust your eyes”.
